The Reverend Dr. Elise Feyerherm,
Priest-in-Charge

 

 Trinity welcomes The Reverend Dr. Elise Feyerherm as our Priest-in-Charge!

The Rev. Dr. Elise A. Feyerherm is a native of southern New Jersey. Raised in the Lutheran tradition, she attended Quaker schools from kindergarten through college, and was confirmed in the Episcopal Church in her early thirties while a graduate student in Boston.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Earlham College, a Master of Divinity from Yale Divinity School, a Ph. D. in Theological Studies from Boston College, and was ordained as a deacon and priest in the Diocese of Southern Ohio. She has taught at the high school, college, and seminary levels; most recently she served as director of Spiritual Formation and Assistant Professor of Church History and Christian Spirituality at Bexley Hall Episcopal Seminary in Columbus, OH, She has also taught as an adjunct professor at Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, MA.

She served St. James Episcopal Church in Columbus, OH as an assistant priest and was active in the Diocese of Southern Ohio, especially in the area of spiritual formation for the laity and for those preparing for ordained ministry. Her passions in ministry are liturgy and music, Christian formation for all ages, the power of spiritual practices, and exploring fresh expressions of Christian community in the modern world. She is an active participant in the Advent Project (see theadventproject.org), which is committed to renewing and invigorating our practice of the Advent season.

She loves choral singing, reading fiction, knitting, cooking, good wine, yoga, and "Doctor Who.
