Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God,
You take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayer.

You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ,
with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

The Meditation

The Nicene Creed – Led by
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty,
   maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,
   eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light,
   true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the
      Father; through him all things were made.
   For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven:
   was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
      and became truly human.
   For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
      he suffered death and was buried.
      On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures;
      he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
   He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
      and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
   who proceeds from the Father, who with the Father and the Son
   is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge
   one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
    and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Prayers of the People – Led by Anita Milham
Leader: You have no equal, God. We come before you humbled, asking for your healing presence. Heal us, raise us so that we may serve you. We are amazed at your creative genius–how you have stretched the heavens like curtains, and yet you bend to be with us.
People: We are amazed God. We raise our hearts in awe.

Leader: Our world and our lives are in need of healing and direction. We ask you to guide your church and heal it where it is worn out and self-centered. Direct those who lead the church, the laity, our bishops, priests, and deacons; all those in positions of leadership.
People: We ask for direction. Raise our hearts to you, God.

Leader: We ask you to heal the relationships between nations, and neighbors. Give the leaders of the nations courage to pursue justice and speak peace as an example for the world.
People: We ask for healing. Raise our hearts to you, God.

Leader: Many of us suffer from addiction, anxiety, and illness. Break the chains which bind us and heal us, God. Surround us with supportive people, provide us with resources, and a tangible sense of your love.
People: We ask for healing. Raise our hearts to you, God.

Leader: We bring before you those who are on our hearts this day. Come into their lives with powerful healing, and into their hearts with words of comfort and peace. We pray especially this morning for George Labonte, Murray Romans, Arlene Crowley, Jack Derick, Emily Letson, June Reinhardt, Brenda McGinn, Jeff Mahoney, Scott Robison, Bob Cutler, Eleanor Magee, Matt Ellis, Gracie Robison, Alice Pope, Alex, Keith Seeber, Anthony, Jim O’Neill, Michaela Holst, Paul C., Jim Chalifoux, Bob and Randi Heiselmeyer, Clinton Crocker, Gail Thomas, Zachary Nelson, Lorraine Cornell, Jim Langmead, Janet Kennedy, Stacey, Kathy Sanford, Chris Noble, Nancy Ferland, Charlie Kendrick, Paula Johnson, Joseph Reilly, Joseph Reid, Kyle Vinson, Leo King, Richie Miller, Wayne Robac, Shelley MacDonald, Dorothy Nasson, Isabel Medeiros, and Ellen MacDonald.
We look to you for care of all these, to give them hope through your presence.
People: We ask for healing. Raise our hearts to you, God.

Leader: We pray for those who have died, that they may know the fullness of your love in the life you have prepared for them. We remember this morning Barbara Kelley, mother of Kathi Redman, who died on Friday. Comfort those who grieve her loss and give them the confidence of your love which knows no limits of time or space.
People: We ask for assurance of your love. Raise our hearts to you, God. Amen.

The Prayer of Confession – Led by Chip McGinn
Leader: Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
All: Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed,by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
